Michele Pauchuk takes the helm at the CMDC
The Canadian Media Directors’ Council’s (CMDC) AGM November 10th marked the beginning of Michele Pauchuk’s, President of MEC, first term at leading the industry association, in addition to two new executives proposed and sanctioned by the CMDC Board:
• Joseph Leon, v7international, President (Cossette and Jungle Media)
• Leeanne Comish, President M2
They both join CMDC vice Chair Cathy Collier, CEO of OMD, and past Chair Penny Stevens, President of Media Experts, on the CMDC Executive.
“I am proud of the progress made on our initiatives over the past number of years, under the outstanding stewardship of Penny Stevens” remarked incoming Chair Pauchuk. “We are also looking forward to the contribution of Joseph Leon and Leeanne Comish to our newly formed executive. They both bring a strong client sensibility from time spent on the marketing side of the business.”
The CMDC has an active Board who leverage their depth of knowledge and experience of guiding principles on topics like measurement, value and regulation in the Canadian marketplace.
“It is my intention to continue to focus on demonstrating our leadership in areas of our clients’ greatest concern. Our goals include continuing to work with leading stakeholders on accountability and ensuring media agencies have and keep an equal
seat at the table,” says Pauchuk.
The CMDC will also continue to champion their successful branded products: the CMDC 20/20 Vision Conference to be held on Tuesday April 26, 2016; the CMDC Youth Ambassadors program and the CMDC Media Digest, our annual (launched digitally for the first time this year at www.cmdc.ca) publication of facts and opinions on the advertising landscape in Canada.
Penny Stevens adds, “Michele has more than proven her mettle in our marketplace by successfully working with a diverse group of vested interest parties to get Vividata up and running – she is focussed but realistic, passionate but patient – which are much
needed virtues to make change happen.”
The Canadian Media Directors’ Council (CMDC) is a not-for-profit industry association of Media Agency CEOs, Presidents and Managing Directors which exists to raise the profile of and ensure worldwide best practices are applied to the communications and media advertising industry in Canada. The CMDC is a free standing organization which has autonomy and a unique position in the marketplace. Members are responsible for the placement of over 80% of advertising expenditure in Canada.
