CMDC ‘s legacy as a 38 year old association has always been, and will continue to be, our commitment to our members, partners, clients and communities. We have a philosophy: that we are 'Better Together.' In times of great uncertainty this remains true.

The Covid-19 crisis has ushered in a whole new world that has affected our daily lives and forced many of us to adjust to a new normal of working and leading our teams remotely. Now more than ever, the Canadian media industry needs to rally together and prove its resilience through these unprecedented times. In a time of uncertainty, many of our members may find themselves asking: what’s next? To this, the CMDC is working with industry partners to listen and re-imagine the future of our industry.

As we all work to adapt to our new and ever-changing realities, media continues to play an essential role in keeping our community connected, by providing trusted, relevant messaging through credible platforms.

Amid the profound changes, there are signs of positive action from brands, media and leadership. We are seeing signs of innovation for good. Media and marketing experts pivoting with new strategies - relief funds, transforming regular customer service channels to re-imaging product lines. All dedicated to serving customers and people in a time of an unprecedented global health crisis. As one of our member leaders simply stated: ‘As a leader, my role is to ‘serve’ - my people, my clients and the greater community.’

Our People: Our greatest asset is our people. We know all leaders will agree. With that in mind, our media leaders to our next generation YA’s are staying connected and sharing their expertise on how best to navigate business in times of change and to keep the mood & morale positive.

On behalf of all our members across Canada, we continue to champion the Canadian media and marketing industry and offer our support by acting as a trusted advisor. We are here to assist during this period of uncertainty, and to help ensure that the media industry in Canada remains strong for whatever comes next.
